Your First Online Sale

I think it was during the last couple of years that I had this epiphany…

EVERYTHING… and I mean, EVERYTHING… comes down to mindset.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to start preaching about how people should be spending their time right now mastering a new skill or becoming Yoda reincarnate.

Focusing on ‘mindset’ wasn’t anything new to me when I had this epiphany. I’ve been somewhat of a ‘self-help junkie’ since I was about 22 (now 49).

But there are some things you can “hear” but not really “get” until later.

All of a sudden something clicks and you get it in your body on a deeper level. Which is when I finally made the mindset connection.

Obviously this doesn’t mean everything is zen all the time.

If only. 😉

Monday I threw quite the pissy fit when talking to the movers about my furniture and belongings still sitting in California.

24 hours later I decided I’d wasted enough energy with my tantrum and it was going to be a better day.

I specifically remember having a similar “a-ha moment” in my business.

That it was all about mastering fundamentals.

Getting good at a few solid strategies so I could then use those skills with different tactics.

As challenging as these times are, for those of us who choose to use the internet to provide value and do good in the world, things are only going to get better.

Here’s a little evidence from a tweet I saw this morning:

How fantastic is that???

Over 100 people had their first sale on the internet yesterday?

And that’s only on Teachable.

Have you had your first online sale yet?

Or do you remember when you made that first sale?

That’s all it takes to show you this is possible.

I remember my first online sale… back in 2008! It was a physical DVD from an online webinar showing people how to set up Google analytics and webmaster tools with WordPress.

Yes. I shipped an online training. haha…

The beauty of ALL of this is that whether it’s an email, a blog post, a podcast, or a course.
