Creativity Published ~ No. 047

I have a lot of ideas and I bet you do too. I was really proud of myself for saving my ideas as they occurred to me so that I could find them later when I needed them. Ha, silly me.

Problem is, I was not consistent with where I saved them. Notes app on phone, Evernote, Asana, Notion, emailed to myself, scribbled in a notebook, voice memos… Then when I needed to find something, I had to look all over the damn place. Sometimes, I’d simply browse my ideas in one of those places to see what I felt like tackling next and I’d find I had no idea why I had saved some things in the first place. I had not included any note to myself about the idea that was sparked by what I had saved.

Does this scenario sound familiar to you?

It’s ridiculous! And it needed to change. So, I’ve created a system combining some things I’ve seen others doing and I’m calling it the Ideabox system.

If you are anything like me, this might help you as well. The Ideabox system makes use of tools you likely already have and are familiar with, and will help you easily capture, organize and access all of your ideas in one place, from any device. No more wasted time trying to find those elusive notes! Best of all, it’s free 🙂

Read this week’s post and learn how to Capture, organize and access all your ideas with this one simple system.

Happy creating!

I’m a huge fan of Austin Kleon’s. (the writer who draws… author of Steal Like and Artistand other books). This is his post lamenting that “Reader, I… never started that index. And four years later, here I am, my dumb ass, trying to write another book, staring at a crate of notebooks, literally thousands of pages, with no idea what’s in them…”
